Dirty Hobby

Toes

I am usually very conservative about the color of my toe nail polish in the summer.  But . . . 

I took a friend for pedicures to celebrate her birthday.  I had picked out a very beautiful pink color for myself.  At the very last moment when she was about to brush the first stroke of polish on my toes, I said, "Wait!  Paint them blue!"  And them she added cute little flowers too.

They make me smile every time I look at them.  I may never go back to pink again.

A Broken Arm

With 7 children you might think that we have had several broken limbs at our house.  But this is the first.  Justin jumped from a box trying to grab the top of the jungle gym.  He missed.

A New Hobby

Todd decided he wanted to add a few more more beehives to our property.  He decided to collect swarms. Here is a swarm up in a tree.

Todd puts on his bee suit.

Carries a box up the ladder into the tree.

Sweeps the bees into the box with a broom.

Closes the box.

Puts the box into the back of the truck and drives home.

He puts a new beehive box out.

And pours the swarm into its new home.

He collected 4 total swarms this spring for a total of 5.  More honey this fall!
