Avocado Tree

Have you ever wanted to grow an avocado tree from a pit? You know, like in elementary school when you stick three toothpicks into the pit and rest it on top of a cup of water.

We did it! When grandma and grandpa were here in March they started the pit. It set on the kitchen counter by the sink for a few weeks. I was so tempted to throw it out many times because it looked like nothing was happening. Instead I moved it to the top of the fridge. And it sat for a few more weeks. It had a long root and a tiny green leaf starting to sprout. I planted it and put it in the Laundry room window. Ta da!

Last Picture

Here is an attempt to take one last picture of all our kids just before Nick and Heavenly went home.

Goodbye my baby.

Wedding Plans

Yesterday Kim and I bought ribbon for the reception, enough to stretch across 4 football fields. Do you think we have enough?!

Engagement Pictures

Here are just a few of my favorite shots from Kim and Travis' engagement pictures.

Piano Practice

It is so great having a child that fills our home with music. The best part . . . I never have to ask or remind him to practice. He just does it. A few days ago I caught him practicing with a blindfold on.

Swim Lessons

Time for our annual swim lessons! This year we got to keep Niko for two whole weeks so he could join in.
Justin and Jay getting ready for a dive.
Marie is becoming a fish.
Did you know Erica could walk on water?!

Todd's New Project

Todd has been building a wind turbine to generate electricity. We always seem to have a breeze blowing up here on our hill, but last night there was a strong wind blowing. Todd couldn't resist taking out his blades to see them spin.
It was spinning so fast that we couldn't see the blades. I decided we needed a second picture holding the blades still to show what it really looks like.

Where Does the Time Go

I was looking at all the pictures on the camera and realized I haven't blogged in a very long time. So . . . here comes the blogs!
