Music

Tuesday night I got to hear Thomas play the Bass Guitar in the Jazz Band. It was so great to see and hear him play . . . and fun to watch all the little kids dancing in their seats to the music.

Tonight we get to hear Thomas sing in the choir.

Adding Pictures

I took pictures of Nick and Heavenly . . .

to add to our wall.

A Happy Birthday

Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes my way via cards, emails, facebook, blog comments, and phone calls.

I had a great day.

And thank you to Todd for making sure everyone who came by, knew how old I was . . .

And about the 40 thing . . . I am better today. Knowing I can not change it . . . I have just decided to stay young despite the actual chronological number.

Tomorrow

I know I should be mature about this whole thing.

I should just tell everyone that it doesn't bother me at all.

But the truth is . . . I am not very happy about this whole thing. It bothers me, a lot.

I don't want tomorrow to come.

40.

Fire

Todd and Jay took care of some of the extra weeds on Saturday.

Another Addition

We've added another creature to our home. This time on purpose. Her name is Rose, unless she ends up being a boy, then her name will be . . .

Snow

This picture was taken the first week of October . . . snow. Can you believe it?!

Preschool Fun

I'm with a bunch of amazing moms doing a co-op preschool group. It was my week to teach.

I'm kind of amazed how much I enjoyed it. I have done something similar with a couple of my older kids when they were young and I remember it being so stressful and dreading my turn to come around.

So . . . is it the wisdom of years that made this time around so much better or the fact that the kids were so great because they are being raised by these amazing mothers (and fathers)? I'd like to think it is some of both.

We learned about the letter P today with a People Parade and a Picnic with Pickles, Pretzels, Peanut Butter, Pancakes, Pineapple, and Popcorn. We played with Play dough and picked Pumpkins in the Pumpkin Patch.

I had a great time. I hope the kids did too.

Favorite Saves Today

A new item has been added to my right side bar: Favorite Saves Today.

Although I do not want my blog to become a money saving blog altogether, I do look for bargains almost everyday and thought it might be fun to include a little here.

I am going to try and post my favorite deals there, if I can keep up. If this new addition just magically disappears one day in the near or distant future, you will all know that it was too much for me to keep up on.

Happy Savings to All!

Happy Birthday, Jamis

Blowing Out the Candles

Birthday Decorations

The Spanking Line

Here is the tiny cut on top of Jamis' head, that bled a lot, that he obtained from running into the wall as he tried to escape at the end of the spanking line.

Happy Birthday, Jamis!

Finally

A New Phone! No big black blobs! I can actually read the screen!

Mary

Here's a picture of our cat, Mary, that followed Thomas home from school one day.
We're thinking of getting her a friend.

Another Nick Name

She has another nick name.
We call her Hurricane Heavenly.

First Words

Isn't "no" one of the first words little kids learn?

Heavenly hasn't said that yet.

She prefers "STOP!"

And sometimes, "STOOOOOOP IT!"

Saving Money

Here are some of my favorite money saving blogs. Be careful . . . you can get sucked in easy.

I usually just look for the coupon deals, Walgreens and Rite Aid deals, freebies, and samples, and then I just skim over everything else.

BeCentsAble

Freebies 4 Mom

Sisterly Savings

Money Saving Mom

The Cent sible Sawyer

Thrifty Jinxy

And expounding on some of my other favorites . . .

Walgreen's EasySaver Catalog has some great deals each month. We received around $50 in free stuff last month and the month before using their rebates. This month there is only a few freebies.

Rite Aid also has many rebates each month but takes more time and effort to get a good deal or free item.

Craigs list is classifieds, better than your neighborhood newspaper.

Freecyle.org I mentioned this in a recent blog.

Sisterly Savings and Thrifty Jinxy (blog links listed above) usually list the free Redbox Codes on Mondays.

A Radish?

Radishes are enjoyed early in the season from the garden. Once planted, it is only a few short weeks before you can enjoy them.

So what happens if you miss picking one . . . and it continues to grow all summer long unnoticed?
Maybe this . . .
I've placed a quarter, the size of a normal radish, on the counter next to it so you can truly catch the size.

The Purses

I finally finished the purse a couple of weeks ago.

Here is the one Kim made. She changed the pattern to make the ties extra long. She takes it with her everywhere. I thought it was so cute I wanted to make one too!
Somewhere between the cutting out and the sewing, I found a leather purse that had all of the pockets I needed/wanted. So this handy purse has become my coupon bag.

Freecycle

Freecycle. Have you heard of it? Everything is free, no strings attached.
Kim and I went and picked these grapes. I found them through our local freecycle group.

It's a great way to find the things you need at a great price, free.

And as my friend, Letia, mentioned, a great way to get rid of things you don't need. Someone who does need it, comes, picks up, and hauls them away for you.

More Noodles

She does get into her food.

Home

Todd returned from his trip. After awaking at 2 am, our time, in order to catch his flight home, I found him here.
I am so glad he is home.

It Followed Him

It followed him from school one day, school one day, school one day.

It followed him from school one day. . .

We now have a cat . . .

named Mary . . .

because it followed Thomas home from school one day.

He took it back. And she came back a again. And didn't leave.

Bubbles

Todd was getting ready for draining and refilling the hot tub. He decided it would be the perfect time to see what would happen if he added a little bath gel to the water while the jets were running.

We had a blast in our family bath tub!

Tina Turner

Her first thing in the morning nick name is Tina.

Returning

Sorry I have been away from my blogging post for so long . . .
