Time Off

I was naughty today. Late in the afternoon I sent the kids outside to play with their homework unfinished. I sat down on the couch with a crochet hook and a skein of yarn. As I watched DVR recorded shows of Martha Stewart I crocheted this hat for Marie that she has been begging me to do for her for a couple of weeks now. What a relaxing afternoon!

Flying the Coop

Todd is working on improving the chicken pen because they keep escaping.

Blessing Dress

I took the time to make a blessing dress for Allie. It felt so good to have my sewing machine out again. Oh, my! I think I am really loving this grandma thing!

Homecoming 2010

Thomas asked Amy to Homecoming. They arose before daylight, packed a breakfast, and headed up to Table Rock to watch the sun rise. The day date was followed by a video scavenger hunt. There evening was filled with pictures, dinner at our home, and the homecoming dance. I just love those modest dresses!

Allie

Let me introduce you to my new, and first, granddaughter, Allie. Isn't she beautiful?!
She came into the world about 6am on Wednesday, October 6th. It was a total of 4 hours from Kim's first contraction until Allie was born. She was 7 pounds and 15 ounces. Allie spent a couple of days in NICU receiving antibiotics, but she is now doing well and has gone home with her new family.

Harvest

We harvested our pumpkins this morning. While we were in the garden, I looked over and saw the dry corn stalks and thought some of them might look nice by our front door.
The cute guy looks pretty nice by the front door also.

Helping Out

These warriors went to help out with an eagle scout service project. They were painting . . . obviously.
