Last week the pump for our well went out, the one that costs $750 and is 200 feet down in the ground.
Thank goodness for warranties.

Oh, love that! Our well (also 200 feet) collapsed last summer -- was improperly lined when the previous owners had it done -- and burned out the pump. Had to have it re-dug, new pump, etc. (And no warranty, of course.)
To top it off, it began pouring rain while the drill rig was in the yard, so when it left, huge mud trenches were left in our yard, and our neighbors' (the only access to our well). It was lovely.
