Besides the new headboard and the old sewing cabinet that needs to be painted . . . and now the thrift store chair, I have cut out three new sewing projects . . .
A Purse. Kim made one and it was so cute I had to swipe the pattern. I'll post a picture of both purses when mine is done.
A New Scripture Case. Just because.
And a third project I can't mention because it is for someone who reads this blog.
I can hardly wait for nap time tomorrow . . .
This all sounds way too ambitious. I would normally be a little overwhelmed . . . but . . . ohhh, the fun!!!

Thrift Store Stop
I made a quick stop at the thrift store today.
I usually take a quick look down the plate isle first to find something that catches my eye to add to my collection of china dessert plates. Each one is different. I love eating off of them. And at $1 to $3 each I can throw them into the dishwasher and even let the kids have snacks on them without worrying about them breaking.
The stacks on the upper right are the plates I already had. The three plates on the lower left are the ones that caught my eye today. Each one was only 69¢.
I also found this chair. I shouldn't have bought it until all of my other project were caught up but for $7.50, I couldn't resist. It might not look like much, but check out the "bones" of the chair in the second picture.
Can you just see the potential?!

And I Breath . . .
Is summer really over? So much fun . . . so little time!
School has begun.
The kids were great and we enjoyed the whole summer but . . . I am so ready for some structure.
I am not ready for countless hours of homework.
And now maybe I will have a few extra minutes for some blogging!

A New Hobby
Thomas has a new hobby, creating pictures with spray paint.
Here's his workstation in the garage.
Here are two of his creations he painted today.
New Family Rule
I think there should be a new family rule.
If you are the one who chooses to let the child go at their dinner unassisted, you should be the one who enjoys the cleanup.
Hee, hee, hee!
Another Saturday Project
Here is another one of Todd's Saturday projects, cutting a hole in the floor and attaching a heating/cooling vent.
And a little background . . .
A couple of weeks ago Todd was in the crawl space under our bedroom and bathroom. He found a heating and cooling vent stretching out into nothing . . . just blowing cold air out into the crawl space under our bathroom.
Besides the waste of energy, the recycled air in our home was being blown outside and constantly pulling hot, dusty air into the house through every small crack and hole around doors, windows, and who knows where.
I wonder how much this little slip in the construction phase cost us.
We always wondered why our bathroom was the coldest room in the house during winter and the hottest room in the house during the summer.

Twin Falls Temple
We filled our van up early Saturday morning and made a trip to see the new Twin Falls Temple. It was beautiful. As I stepped onto the temple grounds, I was surprised by how strongly I felt the spirit even before it has been dedicated.
Aunt Dot met us there. It was so great to see her. We don't make many trips to Twin Falls these days and it had been way to long since we have seen her.
New Moon
I finished reading "Twilight" this morning before church. I loved it! The best part . . . there is still three more books to read.
A quick pick up around the house to recover some of my neglected duties while reading and I'm off to start reading book # 2, "New Moon!"

Twilight
I started reading "Twilight" tonight. I figured I should read it before the movie comes out and see what all the excitement is.
Kim went out to purchase book 4 at midnight last Friday.
Todd started reading book 1, Twilight, sometime in the last week and now he is half way thru book 3.

Cell Phone Drop
My Cell Phone has been dropped one too many times. I have dropped it over 50 times in the year and a half I have owned it. Not much has ever come of it except for a few minor scratches. Then Todd borrows the phone for a quick run to the store. He drops it one time and this is how the phone was returned to me. Well, almost. The big black blob grows bigger every day. It is getting harder and harder to scroll thru the menu buttons and actually know what I am clicking on.
I'm not eligible for a new free phone until January so I'll be switching back to one of our old phones soon. I spent the evening downloading all of my old pictures from the phone to our home computer before I lost them all.
