New Chickens
Thanks to our "Chicken Handler," Amanda, we now have 3 new hens. Aren't they beautiful?! Amanda is a friend of our daughter, Kim. Amanda's generous friend gave us 3 laying hens. The black one has been named Bella. Our white chicken is Martha and our original brown chicken is Betty. We are still looking for names for the new brown hen and the new grey hen. Any suggestions?
Fixing the Fence
Or maybe I should say rebuilding the fence. After loosing 6 chickens we decided there needed to be some improvement to the chicken pen. Todd has put in sturdy corner posts deep into the ground, buried the bottom of the fence 6 inches, and built the fence up to 5 feet. It is pretty secure now. He spent many hours in the snow today finishing it.
First Fire
It has been so cold outside this week. We decided to build the first fire of the season last Tuesday evening. And we have been burning wood every day since. Oh, my! I love a toasty fire!
An Eagle Scout
Although Thomas finished his Eagle Scout project and passed his board of review several months ago, we were finally able to have his Eagle Court of Honor. It was a great day. As a mother it was so heart warming to hear others talk about my son, his character, and his dedication. I am so proud of Thomas and I am grateful to be his mother.

Baby Shower
I threw a baby shower and brunch for Kim and Allie. It was a morning filled with family, friends, food, fun, and fabulous girly things.
Baby Blessing
We went to Twin Falls for some playing,
checking out the zoom lens on the new camera, eating some yummy Drunken Noodles made by Kim and Travis,
taking lots of pictures,
checking out Uncle Darrell's Madel A Ford,
and most importantly, attending Allie's blessing.
But my most favorite part was holding that sweet little granddaughter of mine.
Parkour
What is it? Freerunning. The goal is to move from one point to another as quickly and efficiently as possible. In my terms . . . really cool movements that scare a mother half to death.
Here are some pictures of Thomas doing Parkour earlier this month. I wish these photos did him justice. He has been known to run up the side of a building, flip off of a roof, and jump over fences quite swiftly and smoothly.

Photo Editing
I have been in awe at my neice, Amber's, photography and photo editing skills. She can make a new photo look like it has aged perfectly over the last 20 years. She headed me down the right path to making new photos look vintage. After playing for a while I tried to make this picture look like it was on a vintage postcard. Fun!

Avocado Tree, Part 2
Remember this tree I showed you in August of 2009?Yep, the one we grew from an avocado pit. Look how big it is now at 1 year and 8 months. Truly a successful science experiment.
Hobby Lobby
I love Hobby Lobby! I could get lost in there for hours. One of my favorite people gave me a gift card to Hobby Lobby for my birthday. Oh, what a treat! This is what I bought . . .
. . . a new wall sign. It says, "Together, a wonderful place to be." And I love it! It makes me smile every time I walk by.
