We Are Back

Where have we been?

I'll be back soon to post our amazing week after I finish unpacking, catch up on the dirty laundry, and download the pictures.

More Imagination

Yesterday when the kids had more energy than I could handle, I started to separate them and give them tasks to do. Justin was to sit at the table and create a paper project.
Wow! I am impressed!
Today, Justin colored his ship.

Excuse me. I have just been corrected as Justin watches over my shoulder . . .

Today, Justin colored his destroyer.

Asleep

This is the baby who rarely can fall asleep anywhere but in her own crib. How did this happen?

Imagination

"Mom, look! We have our life vests on to keep us safe!"

"Hurry, hurry! We have to swim now!"

A Corner

Sometimes in a house full of people you just need a little corner to yourself.
Here is Erica tucked in the corner of the mud room, with a book and her music, blocking out the distractions.

Free Movies

Don't forget about the free weekly movies in your hometown by Regal.

School is Out

School is out.

Can it possibly be summer? It has been so cold.

I am in denial. I am not prepared yet.

Yea! No more homework!

Kim's Graduation

I have been feeling weird about this whole graduation thing. Could my daughter really be graduating from high school? Is she really that old? Didn't I just graduate from high school a couple of years ago? Did I teach her everything I was suppose to teach her?

But when it actually came down to it, I was alright. It is hard to cut the apron strings but I think Kim is as prepared for the future as she could possibly be. So I'll just take a deep breath . . . and watch.
Here they are all lined up. Kim is the very front coner. In the picture that would be the bottom, left corner.

Getting her diploma.

My Son, The Musician

Last night was Thomas' piano recital. He played "Hungarian Dance #5" and "A Thousand Miles." I can hardly believe he has only been playing for three years. He picked it up so fast. Then he started playing the drums and picked it up really fast. Then he started playing the guitar and picked it up really fast. Here is a little mini concert just for you . . .

And Thanks

And thanks again Grandma for helping me get my laundry caught up while you are here.

She even sorted the sock baskets.

A Piano Project

On Kim's birthday when we were driving to Red Robin for dinner, Todd and Thomas spotted an old piano dumped in a pile of junk sitting on the side of the road.

Todd could hardly wait until dinner was over to go back and check it out. He decided it was worth salvaging. We went home for the pickup truck. Todd and Thomas headed back out and then decided to get Travis to help out. The three of them loaded the piano up and brought it home.

Grandpa had a good look over it yesterday and said the bones (I can't remember the real words he used) of it were in good shape. So off to Home Depot they went. And the work begins . . .
